Four flights to or from Extremadura have been canceled in the last five days. UPA Secretary General Lorenzo Ramos is one of the 40 travelers affected this Thursday by the cancellation of the Madrid-Badajoz flight that was due to take off from Barajas at 12.20 pm. The leader of the agrarian organization will not be able to arrive in time for a meeting that he had set in Badajoz at noon. The technical failure in the Iberia aircraft will also prevent the flight to the capital with an expected departure from Talavera la Real at 14.05 from taking off, according to information provided by Aena.

Last Sunday the same thing happened with the flight that connects the capital with Extremadura. This cancellation caused that the plane that should have left at 13.40 hours from Badajoz was also canceled.

“It seems to me a shame that you arrive at the airport early and they tell you that the flight is canceled due to technical problems . They had to have warned us in time to have looked for an alternative », complains Lorenzo Ramos. The airline has offered a bus to travelers and many of them have declined the offer. “What is the use of arriving at Badajoz at five in the afternoon?”

On the other hand, Iberia has offered several alternatives to the 33 passengers who were planning to leave Badajoz at noon: a change of date, travel by bus or detour to Barcelona. The company has tried to contact travelers when it has been aware of the fault detected in Madrid to offer another alternative air connection to the capital. Specifically, twelve of them have chosen to fly at 12.45 pm to Barcelona from Talavera and then take the airlift to Madrid.
