The Extremadura Regional Government will invest until the end of 2020 more than 45.8 million euros in the Logistics Platform of the Iberian Southwest of Badajoz, a game that will allow the project to reach 132 hectares, have two roundabouts to connect to the highway and reach the rail connections.
The Minister for the Environment and Rural Affairs, Agrarian Policies and Territory, Begoña García, provided this information during her visit to the first phase of the works, 38.91% executed and started last March.
The first phase, in which more than 13.5 million euros have already been invested, includes the construction of two roundabouts, which will be tendered for 2.3 million euros before the end of this year and which will link the logistics platform with the Madrid-Lisbon highway.
The project for these roundabouts is already prepared, pending the permission of the State Highway Demarcation.
Last August an agreement was also signed with Adif to develop the railway connections for an amount of 11 million euros, which will allow them to be completed within two years from the Board of Directors of the state-owned company and the Governing Council of the Junta de Extremadura approve the corresponding agreement.
On the other hand, before the end of this exercise, the drafting of the project for the second and third part of this first phase will be tendered, a total of 72 hectares that will join the current 60, and whose work will have an amount of 19.2 millions of euros.
