Regarding the Extremadura train there is a feeling that this region is forgotten, but also that for the first time there is an outrage shared by most of the population , which requires the authorities a faster and better-performing train than the current one.
According to four railway specialist engineers who met this Thursday in Badajoz, in this current environment of vindication, the most recommendable thing is not to loosen the pressure on the central government . They speak of the fact that the last promised terms from the Ministry of Public Works are technically feasible, but they warn that without firm political will they will again be impossible to meet . The technicians who appeared at the Meeting Point round tables agreed on this matter. It took place at the Río de Badajoz Hotel and was promoted by the Senior Club of Extremadura , which together with professional associations, private foundations and other entities tries to analyze the ‘hot’ issues of the region in the manner as objective as possible. It has already done so with the Extremaduran Budgets and with the situation of the Almaraz nuclear power plant. This Thursday the railway touched and at the table moderated by Cecilio Venegas three road, canal and port engineers and a senior engineer in geodesy and cartography presented their views.
Norberto Díez González , an infrastructure expert, broke down the passenger data to conclude that 95% of the transport of people and goods in Extremadura are resolved by road. In this regard, he added that this road network in the region is much more extensive in relative terms than in the rest of Spain. On the train claimed by Extremadura, he recalled that the day it is achieved, it should not be forgotten that it will be only a means, not a guarantee of prosperity.
