The Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Badajoz has joined the demands for “substantial improvements” in the railway structures of Extremadura that have been initiated from different economic, political and social sectors of the region to demand a “decent train” .
This business corporation claims a railway that is in the “current quality standards and guarantees the adequate progress” of the autonomous community. “If Extremadura does not have a high-performance train, the territory cannot be structured in this community, which also has a strategic location,” indicates the Chamber.
The organization also indicates that Extremadura is located in “a key geographical position between Madrid, Lisbon and Portugal”, which is “very favorable to be a door for markets, merchandise shipping and new economic spaces”. In a “special” way, he adds, the community has been “a major exchange route with the Portuguese country”, given that being located on the border gives it “great advantages”, as well as the relationship with ports such as that of Sines connect the Extremadura region with world production centers.
