The Caja de Badajoz Foundation has launched a campaign, with various activities, with the aim of claiming the arrival of a decent train in Extremadura in 2017 and an AVE in 2020.
A campaign that runs through the streets of Badajoz with posters and billboards that propose a ‘Referendum’ to Extremadurans, in which “vote NO on territorial disconnection and YES on a decent train,” as reported by the Foundation in a press release.
This initiative will culminate with a protest party on September 23 on the Paseo de San Francisco de Badajoz, in which the protagonist will be the request for a decent train for the community.
The protest party will begin at 11.00 am by the Candi2 Band, which will be in charge of conducting the event, in which various activities and shows will be held such as poetry reading, the magical performance of the Great Chiky, the murga ‘Esto está ganao’, a performance by the students of the IES Reino Aftasí.
You can also listen to the Iberian Big Band in concert, and a sandwich more than one kilometer long will be made to taste the chorizo, in what will be a “Extremaduran gastronomic challenge” by the catering Pedro Méndez. The day will be enlivened by the music of Newman DJ.
