The minister has thus answered in the plenary session of Congress a question from the socialist deputy César Ramos about what the government is going to do so that Extremadurans “do not feel ashamed” for their trains.
The Minister of Public Works has insisted that the Government is carrying out the works “and every week there is a new milestone.”
De la Serna has also told the deputy that he does not share his claim that Extremadurans are treated by the Government as “second-class citizens” and has considered that the request he makes is “fair”.
The minister has commented that he did not intend to look back to speak of breaches of previous governments, “that there were and are important” in the stage of socialist government.
For his part, deputy Ramos has stressed that Extremadurans do not have the same conditions as the rest and, therefore, “cannot compete.”
“For that reason and because it is fair,” the deputy has asked the Extremadurans the same “that others have. Extremadura deserves it ”.
The deputy has also demanded from the minister deadlines on the completion of the AVE and solutions to the problems of breakdowns so that Extremadurans feel like first class citizens since today they feel, he reiterated, “second class citizens”.
