Renfe officials have explained today to the Extremaduran councilor Begoña García Bernal the battery of urgent measures that are already underway aimed at improving the reliability of trains serving the region, such as overhauling the engines or replacing the cabling.
García Bernal met this morning in Madrid with the general director of Travelers, Ramón Azuara, and of Development and Strategy, Alberto García, of Renfe, the state public company has reported in a statement.
The meeting was scheduled to be attended by the president of Renfe, Juan Alfaro, and the director general of Operations, Francisco Minayo, but both had to be absent to travel to Barcelona after the accident registered at the Estación de Francia.
